Last Sunday I attended the People’s Climate March in Manhattan. Estimates put the number of participants at over 300,000, making it the largest climate change march in history. It was an extraordinary and inspiring event.
I shot three roles of film on 6th Avenue and around Times Square and got super lucky with one of the exposures. To take the photo above I ran into the middle of the march on 6th Avenue, planted my tripod in front of a woman in the slow-moving river of protestors — part of a group of protesters actually — and took several shots. It was a more gutsy move than I typically make, but it paid off.
